Shame

Shame is a negative emotion that can be triggered by actions or thoughts that go against our values and moral principles. It can have a lasting impact on our self-esteem and emotional well-being.

 

WHAT TO DO WITH SHAME?

To cope with shame, it’s important to first recognize and confront it. This may involve examining the thoughts and beliefs that underlie our reaction, seeking alternative perspectives, and reminding ourselves that we are all human and we all make mistakes. It can also be helpful to talk about our feelings with a trusted person and find ways to make changes regarding the actions that caused the shame. By working on our shame, we can ultimately overcome it and regain our self-confidence.
